Can we get this FO person on to Mock the Week or Have I Got News For You£ I think that he would make a welcome contribution.
Why is the FO pissing about with the Vatican anyway, it is only a figment of Mussolini's somewhat warped imagination£

No doubt Herr Pope will feel that there is some salvation for these turbulent priests as their actions obviated the need to defile canon law by using contraceptives...

Go to: Do Twilight, Harry Potter open door to the Devil?

The real danger is in tne belief in devils and exorcism, not reading Harry Potter. I travel around Africa extensively and see and hear of the insidious effect that this preoccupation with casting out of 'devils' has on communities who do not have the depth of knowledge to refute claims made by evangelical western missionaries and their local lieutenants. Children, and it is always children, are accused of being possesed by evil spirits or devils and are then subject to mental and physical torture and persecution. in extreme cases death can result. Some of the sick literature I have seen has been written and printed in the US but contains material that would result in prosecution if this literature were actually published in the US.
The writers also use the neat trick of accusing any one who complains about or questions their literature of being an agent of Satan.
The problem seems to be exacerbating rather than ameliorating.
Fortunately the wider world seems to be waking up to this tragedy.

We also should not forget the effects of dealing with these crises has on the medical professionals who respond to these disasters.
One of my schoolfriends, a qualified Doctor, committed suicide after the mental strain of years of relief work in SE Asia and Africa became too much to cope with.
