Go to: Prince Charles branded a 'snake oil salesman' by scientist

I see the 'Prince choosing one from seven boiled eggs' myth is still going the rounds... and he once made a joke about talking to plants and now everybody thinks he does.

Yes, he has some loopy ideas, but he's not completely bonkers. The trouble is, no-one is allowed to argue with him.

Harvey goes back sixty years at least - James Stewart starred in the film version released in 1950, playing Elwood P Dowd, who had this invisible six-foot rabbit called Harvey - at least it was invisible to anybody other than Elwood... before that it was a stage play - in London the fgreat comedian Sid Field played Elwood. Farscape was still fifty years in the future!

A-be-the, a-be-the, ab-be-that's all folks!

Go to: Religion? Reality has a grander magic of its own

'The Greatest Show On Earth' is, after all, a slogan - a quotation if you like, that was originated to describe TP Barnum's Circus... Surely it wouldn't have the same resonance if translated into a language in which the slogan had never appeared? This may well have influenced the translator(s)...

It's a beautiful book, which I say as one who is NOT sitting on any fence.
