So great to see some good news for a change ....... Congratulations to the BHA and the UK govenment .

Sadly this will never happen on the other side of the Atlantic because over there , Evolution is "only a theory" ...... you know just like Music theory .... wait on ! Music theory is real... ooh !

Now we need to see this same thing happen down under in Australia , but with a "devoit catholic" headed to be our next Prime Minister , its doubtful that his party will preclude dogma and ideology from its policy making ...

One of the many insidious aspects of all religion is its arrogant attempt to monopolise morality, and claim its as its own . Reading through some of the many touching and sincere comments on this web page, let alone the hundreds (thousands ?) of other comments on the many other on-line obituaries for Christopher Hitchens, from all around the world, one thing that shines through is the compassion and honesty , 2 aspects of “morality” that we evil atheists are apparently unable to aspire to . So , fellow non-believers , crushingly sad that the death of Christopher Hitchens is, take heart that this event has given us an opportunity to show that compassion and honesty are such essential aspects of the core morality of all civilised , free thinking people

It may be 2 years old , but for those of us who don't live in "the greatest nation on earth", and fear that it will one day again be run by ignorant theocrats, (and the flow on effect that will have for the rest of this planet) , it is comforting to know that the U.S. has people of the likes of Mr Tyson, who are so eloquent and energetic about the wonder of knowledge.

One would have thought that the sorrow , misery and hatred (read 'evil') that is perpetrated in the name of "god" would be enough to discredit all religion in the eyes of any sane person. But sadly , "faith" will always allow theists to ignore the many truths that contradict their arrogance, so rather than worrying about what the book says , we should all take heart that they feel threatened enough to write it in the first place . In times past their solution would have been to burn us all at the stake , apparently to free us from satan , (another of their inventions) , but somewhere over the centuries , homicide became immoral so we'll be spared that fate ... its a pity the civilising influence of secularism , didn't find its way into the dark corners of the catholic religion . maybe then the institutionalised rape and torture of children (in church "care") , would not have happened . But then again , as an atheist , I know the difference between right and wrong without ever having read a bible , I dont have "faith" to muddy my mind .
