The authorities have banned photography of the damage, conscious that vandalism of this kind which echoes the 2001 destruction of the Bamiyan Buddha statues in Afghanistan by the Taliban is damaging for the nation’s image.

This attitude is childish and unhelpful. It is a part of the nation's image, whether it's damaging or not.

And this is just a normal Catholic School?

I'm in Hamilton, ON and went to a Catholic school. Hell was a very accepted concept for as long as I can remember. We said multiple prayers everyday and had masses in the gym (and in the auditorium in High School) very regularly. I even recall a time in the third or fourth grade when a class-mate got in a lot of trouble for slightly mistreating bread in private (yes, the sacred kind).

By the way Aquilacane, I work in Oakville.

Go to: Atheists' numbers doom them to irrelevance

Merco's Avatar Jump to comment 39 by Merco

You typically don't write articles about things that are irrelevant.

For example, the possibility of my computer mouse dominating the world and reinstating slavery is irrelevant, and hence I will not write an article about it.

I doubt he truly believes that atheists are irrelevant, but then again he must be used to fooling himself by now.
