Go to: Atheists Get Their "Brokeback Mountain" Moment in the New Sundance Film, "The Ledge"

This trailer makes it look like the atheist stole the theists partner, which is kind of pathetic. im an atheist and it makes me want to team up with the theists and give the atheist the doc martin dental plan. I'm hopefull that this trailer is a just a twist and the real movie is alot different to the story portraid here. Perhaps this filmmaker needs to read Sam Harris' new book

Plus like what was said in a comment earlyer there are stupid atheists and smart atheists. jeffery dahmar was an atheist, anyone can be. i think the main point isent if some one is an atheist or a religousist, but the way of thinking. This is what i understand from Richard Dawkins books is religon is a way of thinking, not an institution. I mean that in the sence that someone can be atheist and when you ask them why they say "I dont know I just am". Its the habbit of trusting your instincts without question. So always question and try to understand better, cause if no one else tricks you, you will and are right now

Go to: Large Templeton-funded study at Oxford

this study is cool cause i remember richard dawkins theorising this idea in his books. it reminds me alot of how charles darwin theorised dna. i bet richard is feeling pretty stoked now. i know how it feels to have and idea abouta certain thing and then find out its true, great feeling, lets you know your thinking along the right track.

i think this study says somthing about evolution and its proof. think about this, richard who has an amazing understanding of evolution, (an understanding most of us can just imagin) theorised this based on his knowledge and understanding of evolution and it turns out he was right. this shows that having a great understanding of evolution can have great benifits.

this runs parralell to a debate i had with some people i know. they were claiming that cows have four stomachs and through my understandng of evolution i was like "wait a minute they are mammals im sure they dont have 4, cause we dont". then when we found the answer thanks to my good friend google.... well the rest is history.

p.s. im glad that posts here dont get deleted even if they are haterages. i would much rather know where and what the crazys are doing then have them sneaking round my back. atheism is all about open discussion from all sides. as atheists i think we need to be more open minded and not follow our basic animal instincts on what is said and what hasent. i think its the fact that atheists try to use the cognitive part of the brain instead of just listning to instinct that seperates us. but using the cognitive part is hard and even we get lazy

i think he was only joking about "the only good pope is a dead one". i have never heard this phrase in a serious way. i think its just a term of phrase. besides the pope i assume hes reffering to is already dead and was not a "saint" while he was alive. maby a way of looking at this is with this phrase the only good artist is a dead artist (im sure thats a quote but i dont know, maby heard it in a movie). i dont think he is wishing death upon the ratsinger but mearly stating that a pope isent good untill hes dead and then they are only good sometimes.

possibly human nature is to blame for our instant jump to assuming hatred. im sure if any of us got to know strangebrew, even for one decant conversation, atleast sumthing longer then a sentance. we would find he does not acually wish death upon any religous.

"we all wish death to religon but happyness and wellbeing to the religous"
