Go to: Dumb and Dumber: Are Americans Hostile to Knowledge?

I do not expect too many general Americans to know which country the capital Budapest belongs to no more than I would expect any general European to know which state the the capital of Cheyenne belongs in.

That said, the level (and type)of educational attainent in this country is horrid. It is based more on how one can become rich without doing anything to work for it rather than working to promote a better person, community, and country (I dont know...too thick with the JFK allude?).

There is one thing about articles like this one that I do not like though... This takes a completely pessimistic view of how things are--and I am not so sure it is completely warranted.

Go to: The New Atheist Movement

It seems to me that there is really only one book from the other side that one TRULY needs to read in order to figure out religion is bunk.

But with that comes a problem...you see, most rational people that take up the challenge of reading the bible immediately pick out the things which are so very very wrong.

So forgive me in the fact that I find it a waste of time to read material in which the only evidence is mythology and folklore.

Mike Gravel's answer to the question was probably the best answer given by any of the candidates.

Gravel's listed religion is the Unitarian Church. Even though he stands absolutely no chance of winning an election, his courage to list himself outside of the mainstream and not lie to pander for votes is admirable.

If there was anyone on stage that stood a chance of being an atheist, it would be him.
