Go to: The "So" meme

I look at the 'So' meme in this way , example ,

"So I was on my way to the bus stop the other day when I ran into my friend Stewart"

or

"And so I was on my way to the bus stop the other day when I ran into my friend Stewart"

its an interjection , and a way of appearing to be starting in the middle of the narrative as a method of seeming more interesting .

If you watch in natural conversation it shows up when people are interrupting others who are speaking

I am absolutely concerned. With the conservative government for sure but mainly for the Canadian people , everyone I know is Christian , I'm 33 and everyone I know outside my family between the ages 20 40 are church going Christians . They don't believe in evolution , dont believe in climate change , the women I know don't believe women's rights or health are an issue or concern for their generation because they say they are happy with everything they need . They are ignorant of science and are mostly uninterested in talking with me about religion or politics because it isn't appropriate to talk about or question such things because they are private .

I feel like I want to move to a more secular society , because its feeling kinda hopeless lately since the conservatives were given the majority. I felt sick when I saw Stephen harper had won

Go to: France officially bans the burka

aliensmack's Avatar Jump to comment 178 by aliensmack

I think banning the burka is a brilliant idea . Since when is it acceptable to walk about in public with a mask on . I was half expecting that when the women protesters were arrested they would be found out to be men diguised as women . I mean seriously what's to prevent a perverted man from donning a Burma and then spending the day in a women's public washroom peering at the women through the eyeholes as they use the washroom ?

In the beginning of this ban it will seem as though some women who choose to wear the burka are being treated unfairly however over time the next generation of Muslim women will be free of the subjugation that comes with the burka . They will not be taught that their face and body is shameful .

Comment 6 by pfrankinstein :

Around the age of thirteen, most teenagers go through a sort of rebellious know-it-all stage when they are moving away from being children.

The child grows up, mankind grows up.

Context = coherence; would you agree that mankind is in his adolescence?

Are atheists playing the 'know-it-all' part/representation in mankind's growing?

Paul.

I don't think that's correct at all. We don't die because of overcrowding 'considerations'. We die because immortality/perfection cannot evolve. No body's more than a few years old. Just not copied so well. Even lethal genes can be selected for if they express after, and quite a bit after, breeding. And before too. It's not thought out. Could filter it out artificially. Biologial immortality no problem for physics as long as physics lasts. We needn't die, but evolution can't do it.

If you read my entire comment , which wasn't hard its not long like a book or anything , but I state pretty clearly that the idea was fromthe 19th century and that our knowledge has advanced since then , clearly you didn't read that far , I also said you would have to read more on your own to understand .
