"No sane person, witnessing that scene at the airport, seriously feared that this woman was planning to blow herself up on a plane. The fact that she was accompanied by children gave us the first clue."

But if we all thought that way about every woman and daughter / son going through the airport, that essentially leaves a large security flaw in the system, placing the public unnecessarily vulnerable to some sort of crazed assailant, no matter how small the probability of a bomb being made in the short timespan of the flight.

Because although security continues to tighten, we continue to hear bomb threats every once and a while. You can think that more regulations is equal to simply more complications for the traveller if you wish, but I will choose to view it as a simple solution to a problem which continues to prevail, not only in our fears and thoughts, but in actuality as well.

Go to: Atheists a dying breed as nature 'favours faithful'

Eric Leblanc's Avatar Jump to comment 133 by Eric Leblanc

This study only relies on the presumption that the religious to irreligious population ratio will remain constant by the time this natural selection even takes effect. And seeing that atheism is the fastest growing "belief", the ratio will fluctuate closer in favour of irreligion, while the religious ratio will slowly go down. The children per human ratio will follow this trend as well (that is, only if there is actually a correlation between religion and number of children, which I doubt a little).

Who funds this crap?

I can imagine a parade of trucks strolling behind the initial bus, each offering a rebuttal to the one in front of it. That would be pretty hilarious.

Go to: Sick and crazy can have other causes than religion

The Catholic Church and Christianity do not turn people into child abusing pricks. Anyone who actually believes that is a true idiot.

But religion definitely offers a backdoor for those people. That's still a problem, but by all means, you cannot seriously make "religion" and "child abuse" two synonymous terms.
