Comment 719 by Steve Zara :

But it does offer any entry into the higher dimensions of string theory where such transcendental influence could be located.

No it doesn't, because it does not allow for breakages of conservation of energy which would be the consequence of transcendental influences.

You're going round in circles.

You state that QM does not involve breakage of the conservation of energy.

Then when I highlight some of the theoretical properties inherent in QM, you say it does.

Please make up your mind.

Comment 717 by Steve Zara :

Unlike transcendental influence, quantum mechanics does not involve breakage of conservation of energy or the second law of thermodynamics.

But it does offer any entry into the higher dimensions of string theory where such transcendental influence could be located.

Tony123-

All I am claiming is that we lack the capabililty - and you admit it - to fully understand the acivity of the brain. Complete lie.

You are claiming far more than that. You are claiming that the mind is more than just the brain, that it is transcendental. That is far far far more than just saying we don't fully understand the brain.

I can prove what I am claiming.

Comment 712 by Steve Zara :

If someone presents you with a black box containing a hidden mechanism and states that physics doesn't work as normal within that box, you don't need to understand everything that goes on within that black box to subject their claim to ridicule.

There are schools of thought that believe that it is quantum mechanics and not just classical physics which play a major role in the functioning of the brain. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_mind

If someone claims that your black box contains the operation of quantum mechanics and not classical physics, why would you subject them to ridicule?

Comment 3 by Richard Dawkins :

Can they be examples in any part of human life? Or even of other creatures?

No. Strictly religion. The point is to find an alternative to accommodationism on the one hand and abuse on the other. So we are talking about ridiculing religion. And it should be ridiculing religious ideas themselves, not individual people who happen to be religious.

Richard

How can you ridcule something which you cannot prove to be false and for which there is evidence no matter how slight?
