Dammit. I think me and Muscardinus avellanarius got sock puppeted. Is that a verb ?

Dunno - it was a very unpleasant comment though. Sigh, threads about the military seem to bring out those with empathy bypasses. Members of the military are just like the rest of us - some nicer than others: all with a range of reasons for actions.

Thank you! I dislike having super patriots being the only ones who stick up for us.

Some of the words on this list would give you the impression that this was an article from The Onion....sadly it is real.

I joined the Army to provide for my family and get an education I couldn't afford nor make the time for. The only thing I kill are trees. I am not a murderer. While deployed I helped build wells for clean water, schools, hospitals and farms for the locals.

Go to: Army's "Spiritual Fitness" Test Comes Under Fire

Foxhole Atheist's Avatar Jump to comment 18 by Foxhole Atheist

I have been seeing 'commercials' (public service announcements as they refer to them) for this on AFN for months now. Every time I see it I cringe. This test is not mandatory but I have been curious to take it in order to see how I do. Every 10 minutes or so on AFN (Armed Forces Network television) you are bombarded with PSAs bringing up issues from suicide prevention, how to eat healthy, how to save electricty in your home, reasons to not beat your wife and kids to spiritualy resiliency. I consider watching AFN and dealing with the overall religious tone of my Army as part of my resiliency training :P
