Nice. If I'm not mistaken that's a screenshot of Amy Poehler in Saturday Night Live from a week ago.

Comment 26 by Roger J. Stanyard : My name is Roger Stanyard, btw.

Who are you?

First of all, I agree with you that calling Nick "vermin" is completely over the top. Calling him a liar, on this occasion, isn't though.

Now, about your question, even though it's not directed at me. I, for instance, never use my real name on the internet. It's unique, there's not a single person in the whole world with the same combination of first and last name. If I were to use it, I'd likely put my fiancee in a position where her fundamentalist christian parents would cut off all ties with not only me, but her as well, just because I'm an atheist. Similarly, there are many people who'd endanger their jobs, run the risk of being evicted, etc, if they were to post using their real names. Just because you can afford yourself the luxury of voicing your opinion using your real name doesn't mean everyone else can.

Sorry, I know it's a bit of a derail, but it always bothers me when I see people question the motives of pseudonomynous posters. Some of them have damned good reasons not to post using their real names.

"people generally don’t like to define themselves negatively, by what they aren’t rather than by what they are"

Funny, this is the blurb next to the author's picture:

"Brendan O'Neill is the editor of spiked, an independent online phenomenon dedicated to raising the horizons of humanity by waging a culture war of words against misanthropy, priggishness, prejudice, luddism, illiberalism and irrationalism in all their ancient and modern forms"

Deleting the forum, I mean comments, really was a bad move.
