Go to: How atheism helped me deal with cancer

When diagnosed with cancer everyone kept telling me they would pray for me. I gained no solice from this. I decided if I was about to die I would do something useful by donating my body to medical science. It comforted me to believe I would be useful after death. Thankfully so far it has not been necessary as I am doing well.

Always admired Christopher although right now I think we may have just a little too much in common. I was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer the same day the news of Christophers illness hit the press and am currently undergoing the same horrific course of treatment in an attempt to prolong my life. I wish he could not go on quite so much about the 6 months of torture before you die of this disease bit as I am quite petrified enough already. However, if one more person tells me they are praying for me I will not be responsible for my actions, even in my currently weakened state.
