Go to: Indiana Senate passes bill putting religion in science class

I would love to be in a classroom watching when the teacher starts his creation talk.

Teacher: So God created everything and that is the way it is, it is so likely it doesn't even need evidence, and evolution is just rubbish with many gaps in it.

Student: Who created God?

Teacher: We may get to question time later so be patient and I might come up with an answer for you. Don't interrupt me.

Student: Also how do you know it is a He? I think a woman God would be much nicer.

Teacher: Boy you are going to get five across the eyes if you don't stop yer yapping.

Student: How can I learn if I don't question things?

Teacher: Well I am giving you all the "facts" so stop worrying.

Sounds like such a productive way to teach things.

This sucks. I just heard about this a few minutes ago, I received a text from a religious relative telling me "your buddy hitch is in hell", how nice, and I see equally and even more vile comments all over this news story around the internet. Hitchens was too good for this world, fuck.

"He thinks that the so-called “new atheists” ignore how religion gives people meaning and transcendence, hope and morality, emotional comfort and social support."

We don't ignore this, some of them just can't believe we can be happy, moral, and comforted without belief in a god. Just keep it to yourself and don't try to push it into government and schools and make laws with it or say it is the only way to be truly moral. If the only way you can get hope and comfort from a god is by having a large number of people believing the same way then it must not be that comforting. Your so called "personal" god must suck if you need to be told how good it is for you.

God has a very odd timeline planned out. Lets see eternal nothingness for who knows how long, then let people live just a few years or a few decades while experiencing happiness and suffering throughout that time, and then an eternity of happiness with him after they die from a heart attack or in a car accident.

Also what is up with miscarriages? Is that like God's version of a recall? Oh faulty wiring and fire risk i need that back please thank you.

Thanks God for boobs, beer, and music, everything else needs a little work. I don't want to be mean though, whoever created God might of dropped him on his head as a baby. God out. Common Sense in.

"the problems we face as a nation are too important to be left to those who have nothing more to offer than the claim of having God on their side."

Exactly. You would not use the "god on my side" bit on a resume for any other job. Then you can just say your performance sucks because god is too busy and has not had the time to be on your side yet. Show me some common sense, some detailed ideas to fix our various problems, and show me you care more about Americans than putting money in your wallet or smiles on the faces of people in your party and then you have a good chance at getting my vote.
