Are we not part of this universe. What makes us different than the rest of universe, so as to give a meaning to our lives?

Are human beings, as the peak of nature, sovereign owners and masters of their lives and their world?

Whats the evidence to believe this or to believe that Dawkins believes in this? Where is this coming from? I don't see any Dawkins' literature saying that humans are sovereign owners or masters. To say that would show a complete misunderstanding of evolution. Would it not?
