Go to: Britain being overtaken by 'militant secularists', says Baroness Warsi

“But our conversation must also range more widely. I want the British government to consider with the Holy See how inter-religious dialogue – including that between Islam and Christianity - can be strengthened to prevent conflict and discrimination, guarantee respect.”

I found this qoute, maybe in a different article but certainly is an eye opener. It would appear but not surprisingly that Baroness Warsi seeks to protect Islam, even against justified criticism.

If your religion is correct, or even morally correct then we should be able to read and have a honest discussion about Islam Baroness Warsi. There should be nothing to stack the deck in your favour to guarantee respect.

If it is correct and true then Islam and the Qu'ran will win our respect. The problem is it is not true and horrific. You would need a lot of alcohol and a black marker in order to convince yourself that Islam or the Qu'ran has anything decent to offer.

Go to: Council prayers ruling starts national debate

William33's Avatar Jump to comment 21 by William33

It is quite amusing that so many are up in arms against the ruling but not a single person has made the effort to explain why holding prayers during meetings is more important then holding prayers before and after meetings.

No person has yet explained either why it is morally correct to essentially trap non-believers into hearing sectarian prayers too or waste the time of others by forcing those individuals to hear complete nonsense that is totally irrelevent to the job at hand.

You should have a pre-arranged topic or a set of questions which have been given to you to answer. It would be unfair to be trapped in a room and expected to answer any large questions about evolution, the universe or any of the usual creationist propaganda.

You would need alot of time to prepare.

Go to: [UPDATE - BBC link added] 300,000 babies stolen from their parents - and sold for adoption: Haunting BBC documentary exposes 50-year scandal of baby trafficking by the Catholic church in Spain

The numbers are not important.

The fact that a organisation willfully participated in this type of deception is unforgivable.

The Catholic Church is the only organisation which has a level of protection, which is not shared by other groups and companies. If criminal gangs done the same then those groups who be rounded up and arrested. The companies would be asked to leave the country but the Catholic Church is protected by religious freedom laws.
