As always, science rocks.

I'm just watching "The Link" about the recently revealed primate fossil found in Germany. Fascinating.

I can't wait to hear more about this latest find.

This kind of thing is why I stopped voting Conservative. I'm not a big fan of the Liberal Party, but at least if they're in power there's a good chance that the guy with his hands on the science budget is likely to know that evolution is science, not religion.

Embarrassing to be Canadian today.

And I agree with those who HATE hearing the question "Do you BELIEVE in evolution?" The press needs to learn that no one "believes in" a scientific fact.

...while growth in Eastern religions such as Buddhism slightly slowed.

In my own journey from Christianity to atheism, an interest in the "Eastern" religions was a stop along the way. At the time, it simply never occurred to me to not have a religion of some sort in my life and saying I was a "sorta Buddhist" (even though I knew next to nothing about Buddhism) gave me an answer to the "what religion are you?" question whenever it came up. Plus, it seemed to make people think I was deep and it was a great conversation topic with the opposite sex.

In practice, I was already an atheist, but didn't realize that's what I was. I wonder if the decline in that area mightn't be folks like myself who are realizing that they labeled themselves "Buddhist" because they simply never imagined a life without some form of religion in it and are now becoming aware that it's okay to be an atheist thanks to folks like Dr. Dawkins.

Is it ironic that my favourite character to play was a seriously cowardly and evil cleric?

I even had a bitchin' lead figure that I painted in crusader colours. I still paint figures and I'd LOVE to run across that one again and re-do it.
