The spread of Islam does not explain why Islam is stable by itself. TFoot had made absolutely astonishing contribution to critical thinking and education. However, when it comes to "evolutionary questions" I would like him to be more on the Richards side - group selection is a controversial mechanism, so need be careful using it for explanations.
This is of course topic for scientific publications and computer simulations, not "kitchen talks".

I think that level of intelectuality issue is pointless here, go listen to Sam Haris or whoever :)

What I like about Pat is that his humor is indirect and subtle, and it is more like satiric response than stand-up, especially to christians - witty, witty "...It's nice to know that I'm in your prayers".

I don't understand how that works. Can a species not just lose a chromosome?

I'm not a biologist.

I think film is shortened cause they should have handled this scenario. The answer is, probably, "no" because that would turn us into frogs :). Seriously, we could not survive this loss because single chromosome holds too much information.

You could watch HMMi lectures on evolution. I was very fascinated, especially by wild vs, domesticated corn and "artificial" eye on fly's leg. And absolutely fantastic was the "genes' modular control" over a body structure. Aside from that, stickleback is now my favourite fish :)

This case shows that (quoting someone) "Power is not in money or in force, but truth is power."
