Great to hear about this Matt Thornton guy. I love watching mma and boxing but it makes me sick when athletes, who devote their lives to training to superhuman levels, win a fight and thank their god on international television. Was the guy you beat to a pulp not praying hard enough? I'm very glad to hear someone is finally countering that rubbish. If I won a martial arts fight (not likely!) I would make sure I said, live, that I did it with no faith at all and did it all by MYSELF!!!

Amazing, genomes have evolved which have produced an organism capable of resurrecting ancient and extinct genomes. Astounding.

I just don't get it! If you don't believe that Jesus CHRIST was literally the son of god, then you are not a CHRISTian! Is it not that simple? I don't see why you should be able to call yourself a christian otherwise. It's like going about calling yourself a republican when you vote liberal, it makes no sense, is very confusing and dishonest.

From now on I am referring to apples as bananas to make my point. There is a reason that words have definitions!

Go to: Zebra stripes evolved to keep biting flies at bay

Not sure I'm entirely up to speed on natural selection; if flies drove the evolution, wouldn't the lighter horses then have prevailed in fly-infested climates?

The flies don't have to kill the zebras before reproductive age to influence the selection pressure on the zebras, they just have to cause them to have LESS young on average over time. If the flies cause even a small effect on the health or nutrition of the zebra then it will be less able to compete for a mate, less attractive to a mate and less likely to successfully gestate and give birth to healthy young. Even if the disadvantage is very slight, over time it will be significant. Hope that helps.
