While I very much like your idea of bear traps, I think it is a little far-fetched to suppose that the protesters would actually use bears to destroy the GM crop. Using bears would probably be unnecessarily difficult, cruel, dangerous and expensive (although imagine the police trying to stop marauding bears in a barley field).

Personally I would be content to use ordinary man traps or perhaps a more pro equal rights person trap and just hope they dont think to use bears. ;)

I was suprised Richard did not talk about the possibility of the combination of genes and memes in response to the question about whether natural selection could explain all of human science.

The whole thing struck me as odd. Two non-scientists, with obviously quite confused views, quizzing a scientist on areas largely outside his specific area of expertise and then looking smug when their challenges are not met with definitive answers. There was still no positive argument for the existance of God. It shouldn't be necessary for Richard to be under pressure to disprove God. The A B of C should have put his arguments forward and they should then have been subject to scruitiny from Richard.

This is awesome. Its a shame mammoths don't also grow from seeds... or perhaps not given the possible implications of that.

Earlier I tweeted about this being an ad hominem, a friend replied that it is not even ad hominem but ad proavum. This is now my favorate logical falacy, imagine if all arguments were settled by what your ancestors got up to!
