It's one on many great videos from that channel. I love his podcasts too. He uses humour extremely well. If you ever get the chance 'After the Rapture' is one of his best.

Go to: Texas's war on history

This can only end one way for Texas and the USA if it spreads further - more decline and a reduced role in the world. Hard to believe but science is all that keeps us from falling behind.

"Krauss is a very bright lad and perhaps might join Prof Cox,Prof Al Khalili as a public broadcaster to turn youngsters on to the magic of science. I was staggered to read that Prof Cox has influenced a great many students to take up physics. Prof Iain Stewart' s program on the influence of plants on this planet was also fascinating. It will be interesting to see if science as a consuming interest displaces nonsensical religious myth amongst our more talented youngsters."

I am not sure which side of the Pond you are on - if it's the UK side you might be interested in this organisation

This was set up in order to bring young people into science and engineering. We are on our fourth year and two weks ago had 50,000 young people along to see the wonder of science. A lot to do - but we are getting there!

Oh please!

Don't you know that plate techtonics is 'just a theory'! The idea of land moving around the globe....really! And how could land masses have moved so far in only 6,000 years!

Seriously, plate techtonics was narrowly voted in as accepted theory by the British Science Association only a few decades ago. Amazing. Since then, a wealth of evidence has supported it and all those who opposed it (presumably on philosophical grounds) have all faded away or died. A colleague of mine's father was at the vote and remembers it vividly. He was on the 'yes' side of the decision.
