Go to: Atheists are as big a threat as climate change deniers

Soo...all the believers should unite against the nonbelievers? Even though all the different religions think that all the other religions are going to go to their own version of hell? Yah, that makes total sense. Glad we cleared that one up.

Go to: Do children come up with God on their own?

Just as far as my personal experience goes, I'm an atheist and my family mostly consists of Catholics and lapsed Catholics. I didn't really want to introduce her to god or religion or anything, but she heard about it from friends, family and I guess the media maybe. However it happened she believes in fairies, unicorns, trolls, magic, wizards, god, Jesus Christ (who she thinks is a fairy, actually), Santa, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny. Literally everything. It's not like she believes in it with fierce determination, simply that she doesn't really question it. She wants to believe in all that stuff, I know because she asked me if Santa is real. I asked her what she thought, and she answered that someone in her class said he wasn't real. I asked her if she wanted to believe, she said yes, so I told her that if she wants to believe then she can; it's up to her. The way I figure it, she'll outgrow Santa someday, same with fairies and god and such I would hope; but while she's young they are fun little fairy tales for her. Also, she's seven.

Go to: Wichita Doctor Takes Up Fight for Abortions

The fetus is not an individual, it is a part of the mother's body and is a parasite until it is able to live on it's own. Therefore your argument is invalid.

Comment 33 by Czar :

This is just a caricature of argumentation ethics. The mother does not have a right to the fetus because the fetus is an individual who has been brought into the world by the mother. Duhhh....it would be like me forcing you onto my plane, taking it in the air, and then forcing you off...I own the plane, but it does not follow that I can kill you...

try again

you still contradict yourself

Anyone who supports abortion is irrational

Abortion is inherently an initiation of aggression

However, by arguing for abortion, you presuppose a right of self-ownership[ because without self-ownership, you would entirely lack the capacity to formulate your own judgements and voice them. Additionally, by engaging in debate you tacitly admit that your opponents can disagree with you. But if you presuppose a right of self-ownership and argue against self-ownership on the part of the fetus, you engage in performative contradictions. Therefore, abortion cannot be argued for.

Lolz, too easy.

Wow, thanks for changing the source, that's really cool. As for the article, I find it intriguing and amazing the things that scientists are doing with the fMRI scanners and look forward to many more discoveries on the horizon.

Was the point of this article to get people to sign up to point out that it might not be the best idea to have articles on here from the "vaccinations are evil and cause autism" guy? He's a total quack, if I were you guys I would take this article down so as to not give him credence. On the other hand, if it was to get people to sign up to point this out, well, it at least worked for me. :)
