There is no "GOP Tea Party", there are groups in every state in the US that identify as "Tea Party" but have very little association. It's a name that the neo conservative movement has been attempting to use to distract the casual news viewer.

This is correct and therefore, the title of this piece is a lie.

In reality there is virtually no difference between the right wing of the GOP and the Tea Party. The Tea Party got off the ground due to sponsorship from Fox News and people like Dick Army and Freedom Works. Polls show that well over half of the Tea Party members self identify as Republicans.

A recent Huffington Post study found that:

"A dozen members of the House Tea Party Caucus have made word-for-word use of GOP talking points, presenting them as statements of their own. These self-styled renegade Republicans are, quite literally, reading from a script written in Washington. The source of that script is usually GOP.gov, the website of Republicans in Congress."

No doubt, Red. My opinion is that Fox and folks like Armey wanted to appear to have "grassroots" type support, and identified with some very specific "Tea Party" groups. It's become harder to distinguish now.
