Go to: Is Obama the Antichrist?

Uhhhhh, yeah.

I wrote a little something on this a few days ago. Did you know that 666 has been drawn in the Illinois lottery 5 times this year? That one of those times was July 5, 2008 — so by the same "logic," the USA must be the Antichrist, since that's the day after our Independence Day? Also, the numbers 779 were drawn in the Illinois lottery TWICE on the day after election day, the odds of which happening is statistically far less than 666 being drawn once?

More in Obama is the Antichrist, the Sky is Falling, and Bigfoot is Coming to Take Your Soul.

Go to: President Obama: Bad News For the New Atheists and Other Fundamentalists

In answer to Steve Zara's question... no, I don't believe that alien civilizations exist, either. I do, however, think that both biology and anthropology present evidence that they could exist, so I don't disbelieve it, either. I would say that the jury is out but the possibility is wide open.

On the other hand, there's been no evidence found whatsoever to support even the possibility of omnipotent supernatural beings that involve themselves with the affairs of nature (human or otherwise) existing. The difference is that it's possible for there to be extraterrestrial life, even likely, and some proportion of that might have evolved intelligence and even something like civilization without any recourse to violating everything we know about physical laws, but there's no such situation when it comes to gods, ghosts and goblins.

Elles:

I will say that I have 100% certainty that there isn't a God or gods because I have yet to see anything that looks even remotely for evidence that such beings exist. That isn't to say that I wouldn't be open to considering such evidence were any to be found, but there simply isn't anything there to be examined. I have this same certainty exactly in the same way that I am certain that if I let go of a bowling ball while standing on the surface of the earth, it will fall to the ground no matter how much I try to convince myself that it is possible to make it levitate without recourse to some extraordinary means.

Not being 100% certain that God exists or does not exist would be something more similar to agnosticism (agnostic = "without knowledge") than to atheism ("without theism")

Having said that, I don't care what anyone else believes... including Barack Obama. I start caring when they decide that I have to live my life according to their beliefs. When it becomes a matter of law or national policy, then it affects everyone. Otherwise, the religious beliefs held by others have no more effect on my life than does the god they might believe in.

Go to: Museum in censorship row over Darwin sign

I am deeply offended by museums displays of Jesus that don't include urine. According to my religious beliefs, Jesus was constantly bathed in urine trickled down upon him from Heaven. Any museum display that neglects to include this is committing a hate crime against we Sacred Micturians.

I hereby demand that every museum in the world properly piss on all depictions of Jesus or, I swear upon the Divine Dribbles, I will hold my breath until I turn blue.

I mean it!
