So there was alot of carbon in the air during the Triassic? Great. Just one question then, HOW HUMANS WERE THERE? [that's a rhetorical question, congressman]. Given that the internationally recognized level for Carbon Dioxide poisoning in 5000 ppm, is it perhaps possible that the abscence of mammalian life during the Triassic - that I know, the first fossil record of a mammal, the gerbil-sized Yanoconodon allini, dates from 125 million years ago, or about 70 million years after the Triassic ended - was at least in part due to these atmospheric conditions?

If we are inhabiting a 'carbon-straved' world and there really is nothing to worry about, perhaps the gentleman from Illinois and his limey fucktard sidekick would demonstrate this by entering an airtight chamber for a while and partaking of this pure Triassic air complete with its life-enriching 7000 ppm of carbon?

Scoop 'em up, fly them to NYC, drop 'em in the middle of Times Square, then film the whole thing as a type of "Survivor in reverse" reality show!

Like removing beef from the menu could make British food any worse. Your food sucks worse than your weather.

Ben Stein,

What a tool. I wonder if he would be as supportive of historians who are expelled from history departments for questioning the Holocaust? You can't be a biologist (or any scientist) and teach unscientific things like a math teacher can't question the structure of arithmetic of a drivier ed instructor can't teach that speed limits, stop signs, and red lights are mere suggestions...

'New Testement Studies' doesn't imply anything about belief. The canonization of the NT is an important and valid area of research and, as Ehrman proves, doesn't necessitate Christian apologetics. Ehrman is a first-rate historian and scholar. His work and life confirm the validity of intellectually honest scholarship.
