Religion (literally) poisons everything.

Hopefully there'll a transcript of the debate too - other wise these things are not too easy to follow when you're deaf.

Perhaps Richard should wear some outlandish costume and ridiculous headgear then ask Williams why he isn't wearing his fancy dress today? Perhaps have a plate of spaghetti next to him for the purpose of communion with His Noodly Appendage? Anything really to highlight the absurdity of the churches whole premise right from the outset and enduring throughout the debate.

Maybe we should look at the study from a different perspective and apply it to different cultures.

By this I mean rather than the religious behaving well because they believe their brand of sky-daddy is watching them, they actually have to behave appallingly so as not to offend their sky-daddy.

Do you think muslims would still cheerfully rejoice in Allah's name as they stone a raped 13 year-old girl to death if they thought Allah wouldn't notice if they just let her go and helped her instead?

I doubt this will hold any athiest back from getting a job - if you tell them you're an athiest, it sounds like they wouldn't believe you anyway...

Will it not make the whole 'you must believe in our story instead of yours or die' look a bit stupid if he were to say "okay then, I'll believe your story instead. Now prove that I do or don't believe it".

It's mere lip service. The court has absolutely no control over his thought processes and frankly, it seems neither does he. He really ought to put his kids before himself - he knows the idiotic regime he lives under and he knew full well the outcome of raising his head above the parapet.

On the other hand - does this mean that his children will be Christians in the eyes of the court seeing as they look at the parents religion to determine that?
