Comment 121 by Atheist Mike :

Another argument in favor of these videos authenticity might be that the degree of hatred, religious superstition and zealotry is exactly that which you would expect from a culture which sends it's youth to suicide missions and attack symbols of freedom in the west. Let's not forget the outrageous attacks on the world trade center, london's metro and madrid or even in their own countries like Afghanistan where suicide bombers strike almost daily.

I tend to agree. And i think the translations are likely completely valid. But language is a nuanced thing and an interpretation can be biased (or faked). I just wanted to know if there was anyone on the boards who could attest to the translations validity considering the accusations against MEMRI. I'm not standing up for anyone, just flexing my skepticism.

I don't care if the segment was put together by MEMRI, NASA, or the Cartoon Network the statements are reprehensible and inexcusable. They would still be so if it was Jew talking about Arabs, "whites" about "blacks", or voodoo pagan sun worshipers talking about Methodists. Be it one sample or the entire compilation such human degradation is unacceptable under any circumstance. My only reservation is the validity of the translation, whether it makes things sound worse than they are. (Perhaps it is because I don't want to believe people could be so explicitly vile in the 21st century.)

The video is disgusting. But can anyone here definitively dispute the accusations of mistranslation. Is it accurate or not. I don't care about MEMRI and the Israeli/Palestine conflict or a supposed propaganda machine. The racism expressed is despicable and contemptible beyond description, be it one clip or as a whole. I only remain skeptical because I don't understand Arabic.

Lot of good advice here. I can't claim my route to be any more effective than others commenting but I like to play the patriotism card. This is America and here we have a little something called the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment. When it comes to matters of law religious assertion is not a suitable argument. The law must be equitable to all citizens regardless of personal religious beliefs, no matter how widespread they may be. Even if you do not agree with someones's beliefs you must respect their right to hold them. Not to do so is un-American.
