Go to: Vatican bans Dan Brown film Angels & Demons from Rome churches

As an ex-catholic I found the book an extremely amusing read, if for nothing else to marvel at the glaring inaccuracies Brown continued to present as fact. Without the exaggerations and pure ridiculousness it would never have come close to being a compelling story.

Nevertheless, I love it when someone starts slinging shit at the church, especially when the church is stupid enough to respond publicly.

Bottom line: If someone sees this movie, they are not going to walk out thinking any better of organized religion, be it for good or bad reasons, and I think that's just great.

A cadre of hardcore atheists that see every headline posted on their favourite biologist's website as an excuse to shit on the religious?
I won't shed any tears if there are a few mormon pincushions.

It might be just me, but personally I'd rather stink than bleed.

I say that they should be left alone, unless they feel like instigating non-violent contact with the outside world.

You mean instigating ANY contact right? You're not suggesting that if they instigate violent contact we should run away screaming are you?

I'm allergic to all those prayer-waves floating around, but you don't hear me running about saying we need to get rid of goverment sanctioned prayer in public institutions do you? Oh wait...

"Oktar had been charged with using threats for personal benefit and creating an organization with the intent to commit a crime."

Just another example of how religious nuts think they're above the law and that god will protect them.

$200 million and no roller coasters? Hell, if there were some good rides, I'd go enjoy the thrills and chills while making fun of the fundies in costumes.

What are they counting on? "Oh pleeeease Dad, can we go see the actors working in a Galilean village?" Yeah right.

Maybe they'll make a haunted house out of Jesus' tomb or have a teacups ride with chalice cars.
