That's the best episode he's written for quite some time. And its still terrible!
He should change the direction of the show - maybe make it a comedy instead.

Steve, to paraphrase Robert Downey Junior, the trouble with her article is that she went "full Melanie Phillips". There's a clear tone of judging disapproval from the title onwards, with the added measure of hugely exaggerating the situation. If you had no experience England apart from this article you'd imagine that the life of the average English muslim male is spent hiding out from roving bands of drunken party girls who have no intent but shagging him to exhaustion.
This is not the case - believe me, I've searched!

Thomas Byrne said:
"The saddest thing about this whole debacle is that Minister Dermot Ahern made this law so that it would be almost impossible for anyone to get charged under it."
Bollocks. It would have been easy to write the law in that way - simply use the wording suggested by the law reform commission (that offense was the "sole intent" of the individual).
Also why single out Scientology as the sole exception to the protected religions when the law is not intended for use in the first place?
And why did Ahern's original wording have such a high fine of 100,000 euro with no exceptions for artistic, scientific or educational reasons?
He could have saved a lot of time and effort and just been honest about the whole thing and written the law as "No cartooning of Mohammed allowed (since we're scared the meat export industry will get boycotted) or we fine you huge amounts of money"

In the past few years the vast majority of victims of fundamentalist sunni Islam came from one particular target group - shia muslims - a group not noted for their participation in club 18-30 events.
When I read Alibhia-Browns piece I wondered why the image of women in modern society seemed so familiar to me and then I suddenly remembered this news piece from The Onion;

Perhaps she thought it was real?
