It would have been nice to hear what the Arch Bishop had to say in the latter part of the conversation rather than what the moderator had to say. After all, it was a sell out because of Richard and Rowan not because we all wanted to hear the moderator's take on the argument.

Overall I enjoyed the discussion but as usual just when it started to get interesting the moderator stepped in and changed the subject! I know Richard has expressed his frustration at this before so it was a shame that it got in the way again.

Go to: But can they suffer?

Hi Richard, didn't you agree with Peter Singer that we might equate how much an animal can suffer by gauging its level of self awareness (which goes hand in hand with intelligence). I am thinking of the uncut version of your interview with Peter Singer for one of your TV programmes on Channel four.

I didn't realize this was up yet. What a treat to sit down with a coffee and listen to Richard and Sam discussing the most important topic of this century. I wander if RD.net realizes the scale of their achievement in this otherwise superstitious world?

Comment 175 by Vogon42 :

And you disapprove of Canaanites killing some of their own children but approve of Israelites killing ALL the Canaanite children?

That's a very astute observation Vogon. Hardly the moral high ground is it?

This website is quite an insight into the way you guys think

The fascination is mutual I assure you. Presumably you are one of those people who believes in, and has conversations with, an invisible friend? Or am I being too harsh?
