I talk about the separation of "state and superstition" which points to what churches really are: bastions of superstition.

This must have been in rather shallow water since at great depth, the weight of the water above it is so enormous that it forces water at its most compressed state on the density/temperature curve which means 4 degrees centigrade. The density curve of water as function as temperature shows that water expands below 4C and above 4C.

Mark Twain said that religion started when the first con man met the first fool. To which I add: theology started when the first critical thinker alerted the fools what these con men were doing to them.

Pedophilia in the roman catholic superstition is rather easy to explain:

  1. The roman catholic superstition has done a great job demonizing homosexuality for century after century.

  2. Until about 25 years ago, if you were gay or lesbian and wanted to have some respect in society, you either suppressed your sexual preference and married someone of the opposite sex or you became a priest or a nun. If you did not marry or became a priest or nun, society kept treating you as the dirt of the street, largely "thanks" to point 1.

  3. Suppression of homosexuality therefore resulted in a concentration of homosexuals in the priesthood and nunnery that was far greater than society at large. I remember reading that the president of the catholic bishops conference admitted about 10 years ago that about half of all priests in the US were homosexual.

  4. There is nothing wrong with homosexual priests and I wouldn't care if 100% are homosexual (we know that it isn't 100% because many priests have been caught molesting girls or had affairs with adult woman) but when the roman catholic superstition is suppressing their sexual outlet, they only have 2 ways to go: priest-to-priest or priest-to-boy. When new priests saw their "mentors" actively engaged in pedophilia, getting caught with their pants down, and getting away with it with little more than a reprimand or a reassignment [to new opportunities], joining into this pedophilia circus became all to easy.

  5. In the western world, priests are now much less involved in the education of children than ever before + fewer young man are joining the priesthood (partly due to a more secular world + a world where you can have respect in parts of society while being openly homosexual). As a result, there are fewer cases of pedophilia in the western world today than there were 25 or 50 years ago. This explains that many of these cases that are bubbling up have to do with priests who are now older than 60 or have passed away.

  6. Society at large became co-dependent with the roman catholic pedophilia institute. Parents did not believe their sons, the police did not believe the parents, parents who believed their sons often did not want to move, and the bishops "solved" the problem by moving the priest to "new opportunities". In a world like this, the church authorities had no incentive to do anything other than massive coverups.

  7. Finally, Paula Kirby's recent article explains very well why the church was more focused on the wellbeing of abusing priests than on the abused. They saw it as a crime against their [imaginary] god that is solved with repeated penance and new starts. By focusing on the crime of the priest against god and not on the crime of the priest against the child, their delusion convinced them that this was never a matter of handing the abusers to secular justice. Hence, many bishops cannot comprehend that they did anything wrong. If you are that delusional to begin with to give your life to superstition, the delusion that child rape is a crime against god and not against the child is just a little icing on the proverbial cake.
