Having had the rather dubious pleasure of more than one run in with Mr Eagleton before I have come to the conclusion that he exists solely to exemplify the stereotype of The Bitter Critic - a man who would dearly love to be taken as a serious thinker but instead has only ever found any recognition as a botherer of serious thinkers.

He is entirely the sort to have a 'grievances' wall at home. The sort of critic to decry everybody else as 'middlebrow' at best.

Carto@16, as ever, your sentence imitation was both funny and depressingly accurate.

Go to: Atheists target UK schools

Ugh, after being forced to click a link to the Nazigraph newspaper I may need a shower.

Brilliant Atheists 'target' children in our devious scheme. Marvellous. How badly did that article want to use the word 'grooming'? Apparently the good clean Christian Ethos of Schools (note that schools are of Christian Ethos - apparently) is about to be faced with Anarchist Atheist Children's groups!! Richard Dawkins and AC Grayling should be ashamed at this child abuse etc etc

Nice comment from the opposition though in that article. Atheists are desperate now. Hang on...are we the militant minority who have no chance of de-establishing Religion or an abusive power hungry majority punishing the poor Christian minority? Make up your mind...Oh wait, you don't have one.

The man doesn't even use his fingers to communicate any more, he first changed to a motorsensor reacting to him twitching an eye and is now limited to one single cheek muscle to build his sentences.

I love cosmology and his inspiration of that field, regardless of his physical condition, but when I get frustrated by some of the mundane obstructions in life I might start pondering navigating the world with only that one working facial tic.

Go to: Humanists rejoice! BBC will consult them on religion

The Narnia Code was the most hilariously bad thing to drivel out into TV in...well...days.

How that got commissioned for a major BBC1 feature is madness...though again, that was in Factuals not Religion & Ethics, which goes to show how screwed up things can get.

Worst intro to a talking head ever though...

"Polkinghorne is the world's most renowned scientist ever! Honest!" And then he chuckles and says 'Well I'm not calling these atheists stupid exactly...' before saying something about the universe was created again and the laws of physics are changing with jesus and...

Yeah, then you check that it's still about Narnia and check your paying your licence fee...
