Could somebody please explain to me why it is forbidden?

To prevent idolatry. Aparently, they don't want the mere image of a prophet to become bigger than his message. So, this prohibition is clearly working, isn't it?!

Jonah Lehrer is the author of “How We Decide” and of the blog The Frontal Cortex. This is his first article for the magazine.

And I hope it won't be his last article! Really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to reading his book.

And so, my fellow atheists: ask not what the noughties did for god - ask what god did for the noughties.

My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what god will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.
