This is simply pathetic. Though I have not read through all of the above posts, I cannot help but laugh at believers. These individuals obviously lack intelligence. They are simps. They are weak. They are souless. I have no sympathy for them. I consider them worthless. They lack greatness.

I also enjoyed: "homo sapiens are expendable." Yes, they are! Not from a "divine standpoint," however. They are simply expendable! Humans are humans are humans. My life lacks meaning. Your life lacks meaning. Everyone's life lacks meaning. Oh, you say that you have meaning!? Sure, you have meaning, but it is ultimately illusory! So yes, we are expendable! We perish into oblivion and beyond. Theists, don't you see, you are simple and souless.

I totally agree with your first comment Chris and am continually amazed by the arguments levelled against Dawkins by religious apologists who seem to have simply not read or not understood (or both) his work. It seems to me that the Christian assertion on the eternal uncertainty of the nature and existence of God is simply another way of establishing an impasse beyond which rational discussion of probability and reason can go no further.

Also the analogy of a boxing match used at the start seems bizarrely inappropriate. Since when has religion landed any "huge blows" against science and the prospect of it "declaring victory" seems impossibly unlikely.

I am all for dialogue between religion and science but let it be an honest one that does not establish arbitrary boundaries beyond which the discussion cannot proceed.

It irks me to no end how some Christians like to give their religion credit for everything under the sun. The scientific method? Women's rights?!

Phew! For a moment there I thought Lee Strobel was Dava Sobel, author of Logitude and The Planets.

I agree, Ewan. One can only hope that the "ignoring inconvenient truths is bad" meme, or at the very least, the "what the hell was I thinking" meme will become a bit more catchy. I'm starting to think we need a jingle.
