RE: Logicel

"when jesus touches water - he doesn't get wet, water gets jesus..."

the above is an adapted chuck norris joke, one f my favorites, but actually sounds more sane than the myth of jesus - that the water gets turned into wine.

maybe the chuck norris ones are not so over the top!

i think Ben Goldacre's analogy is the best (to paraphrase):

"if the distance from the sun to the earth were the diameter of a sphere of water (bearing in mind LIGHT takes EIGHT MINUTES to travel this distance), a 30C dilution would constitute one molecule of medicine within this sphere.

I get where you're coming from but the difference is in the association. as a statement in itself it would be just fine. but because it's on the back of a specific event it makes it a bit tasteless, or even just plain wrong in my opinion.

if it had to be made about haiti it would have been more tasteful and relevant further down the line,as at the moment the most pressing concern is aid in whatever form, not who gives the most and the reasons behind it.

agree with you entirely, although it is not just richard.

no matter how true the point is (that atheists can be as giving as the faithful etc) there is a time and place to make it. not on the back of this tragedy.

rod the farmer:

crap-mongers?

that too childish? probably but it has a nice ring to it...

i fail to see what is alarming about the implications of a "crusade against religion", since we are not a disgruntled and dysfunctional band of warrior nobles, with a mandate from a supreme pontificate to murder heretics. until villages are burning, which i dont think shall happen in the near future (crazy me, i'll stick my neck out there!) i think this intellectual debate is hardly comparable to organised religious genocide.

mixmastergaz: have you found the sarcasm lock yet? i think i need to turn it off too.
