How is "Imagine No Religion" remotely comparable to "Kill all the Muslims"?

'I'm sure I heard somewhere "the chances of anything coming from mars are a million to one they say..." '

Yeah, and we know how THAT panned out... :P

RE: Dr Hameer's post:

I would be interested in hearing Dawkins' side of the story.

Dr Doctor:

Trust me, degree level maths does not help you visualise this. I can't get my brain out of four dimensions. Every time I think about this I get the picture of a cosmic bath filled up with spacetime, and someone pulled out the plug but left the tap on.

Well, I imagine it as some mysterious THING which is pulling all the mass of the universe in a specific direction. I have no idea what this THING could be, as of yet.

Anyone got any ideas?

We have fascinating subjects like this to think about and yet we still have to justify time spent on it to pillocks who think "what is the square root of love" or "which atom gives us morality" is a worthy debating point.

People have seriously asked those questions?

Steve Zara:

The universe may not be a hypersphere.

True, it could be a hypertorus, a hypercolumn, or something else. Or none of those things.

Spacetime does not get under ever more tension the larger the universe grows.

I never got that impression, but maybe that's just me.

Dots drawn on a balloon will expand with the balloon, so no-one living on the balloon would notice any change.

Again, that's not something the expanding balloon analogy impressed on me, even when I was a kid drawing little galaxies on balloons before inflating them.

We don't live in fear of the coming of the Cosmic Pin.

That's because there's no evidence for it :P
