"lacking humanity in its simplest form"

What a horrible accusation. I wonder if we could see some justification of this remark?

It just appears as a badly argued thread, deliberately bating the 'Richard Dawkins debate' the writer pretends not to have asked for.

I'm-an-atheist-buttery holds a central mantra not unique only to the atheism vs theism debate.

It's the idea that everyone is right in some way and we should all just get along. It's arrogant, naive, lazy and condescending, I'd predict held by those with comfortable, sheltered lives with barely any experience of conflict.

Maybe these people just need to spend some time in areas where religion has a strong grip.

So wait.... is she being intolerant of new-atheism's intolerance to the intolerance of the religious to engage in rational argument and accept secularism?

I don't think I can tolerate this!

It is a shame that the editing did it's best to remove (or perhaps alter) context. Fortunately finding it here first made for an enjoyable read. Thanks for writing the above Richard!

It is still infuriating to see the masses of faitheists take exactly the misinformation they were looking for from the discussion.

Great to see a little experiment like this and some interesting discussions were had. Ultimately i couldn't help but feel that the format of twitter is a bit messy, when so many points are being raised and thrown around, including responses that now look out of context with something someone else posted a second ago...etc. Kind of like the internet in general really!

I feel there is a need for some kind new language and method of discussion for the digital world. Maybe expanding on how wikipedia operates. Many arguments seem as though they expand to create unfinished branch after unfinished branch of discussion.
