Haha how apt. Richard Dawkins is definitely a Beautiful Mind. He deserves this programme.

I look forward to watching this.

You are very brave to risk both your job and parts of your social network, to come out like this. But really, don't worry about the people who don't want to remain your friends any more. If becoming an atheist is all it takes for them to sever friendship with you, then they weren't true friends in the first place.

I think a world with less religiosity can and will work. We've had a bit of a run of it here in Norway. Not many religious people here, and it didn't turn out half bad.

Go to: Ask Sam Harris Anything #2

I'm a Norwegian Anti-Theist (rude Hitchens, PZ Myers style is my favorite). I very much enjoy Sam Harris' talks every time. Such a calm, lucid and intelligent person.

The idea that ABB's christianity (if any) was a major factor in his terror attacks at Ut√łya and Regjeringskvartalet, is disingenuous and intellectually dishonest.

His primary self-alleged reasons were:

-Angry about poorly planned multi-culturalism causing subsequent segregation and ghettoization. -Xenophobia or subconscious racism (he lies and writes in his manifesto that he had many muslim friends) -Islamophobia (same as above, but more specific)

More reasons could be:

-Malignant narcissism and a need to appear greater to others. Simply put he wanted to be a big guy. -Possibly saturated to his breaking point, having had too many bad interactions with muslims.

The only role christianity has for him is as a cultural identity he clings to. He is more a cultural christian than a devout christian. You can read his manifesto for yourself and look for references to "god-"

" I played the role of the hard-boiled atheist"

Who is "I" in this? It says the author of the article is "SEAN"? Or is it Richard Dawkins?

This is the Don Quixote of the modern age. Or he's a conman.

I wonder sometimes if the so-called "demonic" behavior witnessed at these places are: 1) Acted 2) Some automatic mental response, conjuring up a character from their minds based on expectations of their peers. 3) Some mental disorder. Perhaps schizophrenia, or Multiple Personality Disorder.
