Obama called him a lightweight. How true. He's also a public school bully. Can't wait to be rid of him.

What did David Attenborough do ? I didn't hear about that.

Michael"

David Attenborough, on Desert Island Discs recently, said that he thought belief in god and evolution were compatible. That's after having said in another interview, in reply to a question whether he believed that god had created nature: "I always reply by saying that I think of a little child in east Africa with a worm burrowing through his eyeball. The worm cannot live in any other way, except by burrowing through eyeballs." He didn't sit on the fence there, but for some reason lost his balls with Kirsty Young.

No, couldn't listen to In Our Time this morning either. Another of my heroes bites the dust - along with David Attenborough. Seems the compunction not to upset the Establishment is rife.

I thought the whole interview was biased. Why didn't the interviewer press the other bloke on what DOES it mean to be a Christian, if you don't go to church or pray or read the Bible? The interviewer seemed in attack mode towards Richard and very lenient on the other guy, and the fact that not being able to quote word for word the complicated subtitle of On the Origin of Species (which my illustrated copy doesn't have on its front cover or inside on the title page, interestingly) doesn't equate at all to not knowing which is the first book of the New Testament.
