Fox News is just as bad as Al-Qaeda...they may believe in different invisible, omnipotent beings but they agree in their beliefs are the only acceptable ideologies in the world. I wish both would just go away and quick flooding the world with their hate and bigotry.

Fools. North Carolina should look in the history books and realize that many of our Founding Fathers were deists at best. Thomas Jefferson put it best when he said, "I have examined all of the known superstitions of the world and I do not find in our superstitions of Christianity one redeeming feature. They are all founded on fables and mythology. Christianity has made one half the world fools and the other half hypocrites." Maybe North Carolina can take Jefferson to court posthumously ;-)

Oh No! Not free thought in public schools! Quick, we need more brainwashing! Or maybe we should turn to fear and intimidation!

Wow Mr. Harris, well written! I agree that the tendrils of religion are buried deep within Dr. Collins. I am a person of science and was born/raised Catholic. I am proud to say that the day I began to seriously question why I believed the tenets of Catholicism is when I started to realize that I had been brainwashed (a more civil term does not come to mind). I agree that a person of pure science can not sincerely believe in omnipotent beings (and if they do, they can not be a person of reason or science). Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
