What part of "satire" do some of you people not get?

And a show of hands - How many of you who are appalled at this episode laughed at the end of "Mr Deity and Da Man" when Adam changed his mind completely once he saw pictures of Eve?

When my wife was pregnant with our third child she was 35 years old and her OB ordered an amniocentesis to be done due to her age. We were told this was done automatically because when an expectant mother is 35 then the statistical risk of a genetic defect in the baby is 1:200, which is the same risk as a miscarriage caused by the test. After some discussion, my wife and I agreed that the test wasn't worth the risk: It wasn't an apples-to-apples comparison. The baby's life was being weighed evenly against some knowledge that probably wouldn't have made any difference in our decision to keep the baby or not.

On a slightly different tangent, I was flipping through the channels last night and happened upon a brief commentary on EWTN regarding atheism. The priest who was speaking was attempting to make the point that there is no such thing as atheism; there are only forms of idolatry. Apparently, from his perspective, you're either religious, or an idolator. He went on to state that everybody worships something, so if you don't worship God you must be worshiping something else. I guess he figured we all either worship Satan or something, or else perhaps money or material possessions. What is so difficult to understand about not needing to worship anything? I suppose when you've been indoctrinated into religion as long as he has, it's hard to look at any other perspective objectively.
