Deluded, you sound exactly like someone I know (and with whom I disagree wholeheartedly)... hmmm... :-)

And, by the way, I am pretty certain Richard would argue for the depictions and images to be published...

"The conviction culminated 17 years of Hovind sparring with the IRS. Saying he was employed by God and his ministers were not subject to payroll taxes, he claimed no income or property."

wow... he didn't really believe that AND think the IRS actually cared about that cultural war, right??????
I believe that the most significant factor in getting more of these billboards up in the South is the slumping economy. A lack of business puts these God-fearing Christians in the sad position of either standing on their principles or having their 4-wheeler repossessed.
OMG, lol funny!

(BTW I tried post a comment a second ago and it disappeared!!! grr)

I just wanted to say that I can never read enough of these 'coming out' stories, as many was we have heard over the past couple of years. Sure they are all rather similar, but I think the sheer number of them is helping to change the dynamic out there, giving atheists much needed presence in our social discourse. I swear I had never ever heard or read about atheism until the past 3-5 years and I have noticed a dramatic change in how much more likely people are willing to admit that they are truly atheist. We still have a long long way to go (I still would not likely 'come out' it in certain circles), but I think every single one of these stories desensitizes people to the word 'atheist'-- a word and concept that seemed to have such voodoo shock value before--such that we were all afraid to even utter it, let alone self-identify as one.

So, please keep writing and sharing these stories!

I love the fact that Krauss referenced the recent debate between Sam Harris and NATURE... as well as the broader relevance (ie; Iran).

Overall, a great read. Favorited.
