I'm living in Belfast. I'm friends with soon to be graduates of Law, Chemistry and Medicine.. and also a teacher who hold these beliefs.. and i really mean the literal word.. adam, eve and the whole shabang. Shocking.

I can recall one situation, in a Medicine class, where the Christian student would not accept medically-necessary abortion. She was basically lambasted but didn't budge one bit. She's passed her finals.

I would worry less about the ignorant part of the community / who have no interest in how old the world is - but would accept the facts when presented with them. As for the others.. i just hope Ignorant Amos, Degsy, Wasted Tourist et al are around when they are calling the shots!

Surely, no matter how misunder-edumacted they are - they'll now realise that if they vandalise the signs..not only will they be replaced but the exposure from the media means the message reaches x10000 people!

We'll then have to vandalise our own signs ;-)

"You know, Ireland might come out of the RC abuse scandal as a beacon of hope for, or even a leader in, the drive towards an atheistic world.

Not a chance... too loyal to all that's our own.. and tend to be able to put up with an awful lot. Aside from the grandparents, half of us are already atheist anyway.. or should i say catholic atheists.

"Eyebrows: To prevent water dripping in the eyes."

Moving slightly away from the aquatic ape 'debate'.. Can someone please remind me how eyebrows could be a significant enough trait to be selected? I mean.. i guess there are various insignificant human features that had no bearing on survival/reproduction.. thus were ultimately passed on regardless of their nature and exsist in the population today.. but... i think you'll catch my drift. (no pun intended)

Apologies for not wording this very well.

My mates have shaved my eyebrows of more than i care to remember and i haven't really missed them!
