Go to: Support the Manifesto of Liberation of Women in Iran

Every bit of support helps but it will be a long hard road. Even the most liberal middle-easterners with western education and lifestyle who i've met are islam apologists. They are offended by any hint of "disrespect" towards islam. They view the more extreme moslems as 'their people' and try to 'justify' their behaviour even though they don't agree with them. They strongly condemn any violence but opine that the root of the issues leading to terrorism is ultimately the west. They mixup islam with race. The Iranians protesting in the streets against the government were still chanting 'god is great' - these guys are supposedly the liberals!

…anyway, good going Maryam.

All in the name of the sky-daddy. Yes, it is possible to fool most of the people all the time - it takes religion.

Ok, how about this version:

"The RDF, a charitable institution established by Richard Dawkins -- the world's leading Atheist who often criticizes religions for using charitable deeds to promote religious beliefs, collected X amount for Haiti..."

I too am willing to end our little discussion here. Thanks for the debate. We are on the same side.

SaintStephen,

If the phrase "catholic charity" which you yourself cited makes you mad as it does me because it suggests certain untruths, should we employ similar tactics to establish opposing memes? It's fine to report "RD foundation collected X amount for Haiti..." - in fact it's great - but to have titles like "non-believers for Haiti..." etc is what ihave taken issue with.

"Memes can be, and are, quite rational"

Why a meme forms maybe rational but that doesn't mean the contents are.

I am not contradicting myself, all i said is charity shouldn't be under an atheistic banner.
