Very interesting. A few sources claim they broke in to the church, or it was unauthorized. That aside, this is a modern day witch hunt :( Their "prayer" calls on the Virgin Mary to become a feminist and banish Putin. Sounds good to me!

Way out here in the mid-west...

Last year I moved from Missouri to Southern Illinois. Today, on the 'top of the hour news', there was a bit about Amendment 2. Kind of surprised me that this was on IL radio, until I read a recent article and noticed this part "Karen Aroesty of the Anti-Defamation League of Mo and Southern IL..." link text

All the Branson type folk will huff and puff to the polls to vote 'yes'. Great, yet another mess that everyone else will have to clean up. Come on Missouri, 'Show Me' reason!

I adore seahorses, one of my gravatars is of a small seahorse wrapping its tail around a plant. The Shedd Aquarium in Chicago has a nice seahorse exhibit. Thankfully there are groups whose sole purpose is to protect and save seahorses and their habitat.

Thanks for sharing post and pic.

Strange that the cover art for U.S.and U.K. is different - U.S. version looks like rather grim science-fiction, U.K. version has that "this looks cool, wonder what's inside!" look. Better to appeal to children.

Paperback cover is cute.

... states rights...mandatory national curriculum

As of now, 20 some states are collectively putting forth ideas to make science classes better - evidence based, critical thinking, good solid science. This would be a national guideline only.

Kansas would right now probably vote in favor for the first draft; but, they probably won't vote on the final draft 'till after fall State Board of Education elections and it could die. One state board member is worried - to paraphrase him - "it would take god out of the classroom".
