Upon watching, and straining to hear some of the speakers, like Pinker, Rees, etc., I suggest you re-adjust the volume to about 2x as loud as it is now... my speakers are maxed out, but it's hardly a whisper at times, and I can't make it go any louder.

The volume is as loud as I could make it. Many of the clips I've managed to pull together are very rare and recorded by amateur cameramen and low quality cameras, so I've optimised the sound as far as possible (bearing in mind my profession is medicine and not video editing). I would suggest you find a way to listen to it on a device with louder speakers, because you don't want to miss what these people have to say :)

I have simply used the clips that I have found over the years, without even thinking about social diversity. Patricia Churchland will be in the next compilation, but I haven't found any other clips of renowned female academics expressing their views on god. If you can show me them, I will most definitely use them.

What about Sue Blackmore ? I couldn't see anything on atheism but there is this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sX5JEOyum2M

You could ask her to make something.

Great job by the way.

Michael

Blackmore actually appears in the Closer to Truth series and rubbishes god there. But in this particular video I was trying to strictly use elite professors and Nobelists (if you see that's what I claim every speaker is in the introductory blurb). So Blackmore wouldn't qualify with that criteria.

I think your "selection" in the video is random, unbiased and wonderfully politically incorrect.

Thank you Vicktor, indeed it is. It was a complete surprise to me when people started commenting on the gender and ethnicities of the speakers. I was completely blind to appearances while making the video, which I would think is the correct way to be. I was genuinely far too focused on what these great thinkers had to say.

Oh yes! I'll have great fun forwarding this to certain individuals.

I especially enjoyed Peter Atkins, Neil deGrasse Tyson, David Attenborough, Richard Feynman and Daniel Dennett.

However, shamefully, there's only one female. I can name about ten off the top of my head who should have been included.

Thank you GPWC. It took me a couple of weeks to put it together (with so many different clips the sound editing was particularly hard to balance up). But in actual fact I've collected these clips over approximately 10 years, since this is how long I've been researching atheistic material.
