Haha! Enjoyed that - well done Sean!

I love how they cut you off when they realise you were getting your points across and they couldn't 'control' you!

I can't say I'm surprised at the theists' reactions - and I'll bet Teresa isn't all that surprised either - otherwise she would have left her church a long time ago.

Although it's human nature to feel betrayed when someone you considered to be 'one of you' renounces the group - you'd think these Christians would be above that with their superior moral values. But really they are just apes who haven't learned to think for themselves yet.

Yes, I was hoping Jessica's case would be the first of a wave of cases against US state schools who include prayer at official events. Great work Stephen - keep going!

Go to: South African church billboard banned following atheist complaint

gloves71's Avatar Jump to comment 13 by gloves71

I have to say that I’m not very keen on the use of the “it’s offensive to me/us” argument to get things like this taken down.

We rightly mock the religious when they try to do the same thing.

I have to agree with you on this one. Although I was initially a little bit offended at the insinuation that I'm stupid for being an atheist, but so what? I'll get over it. (In fact I already have!)

Perhaps it would have been better to put up a billboard nearby with a pro-atheist (or anti-theist) message instead to see how the theists would react.

Also, the ASA's reasoning seems to be somewhat flawed here as atheism is not a religion!

"Human decency is not derived from religion. It precedes it." -Hitchens. I found it very disturbing to read comments about Dawkins' statement on the Sky website. Most still believe that christianity offers a good moral compass... sigh
