That's the worst part - that they are forcing children at an early age into a limited mindset. They are trampling on the freedom of those kids to think for themselves; not expanding freedoms to practice religion as they please.

I don't have any problem if someone wants to believe in space gods. But when we start dumbing down the next generation, it affects all of this. Those kids will grow up and be a part of society one day.

This is scary stuff. Unfortunately, I think it will pass. I really hope ACLU fights this in court and takes it as high as possible; they are sending out e-mails to Missouri residents saying they will.

There is an assault on intellectuals going on in this country and it is terrifying. Suggesting for one moment that rationality be primary in public policy making, and checking religion/emotion at the door, results in a slur of insults and degradation rivaling bigotry. It is as if having a college education and being concerned with what goes on in the world is a BAD thing these days. WHY!?!?!?

Way out here in the Mid-West, we are surrounded by people who REFUSE to look past the end of their nose. They are pummeled with misinformation left and right and subscribe to people who claim to have the answers because they 'studied' theology - an 'academic field' that is hardly academic at all, considering it is entirely based off superstitious claims.

Religious privileging must come to end. It is turning our children into zombies who cannot think for themselves.
