V'Ger's Avatar Jump to comment 44 by V'Ger

This guy hits the nail bang on the head for me.

As he says - if teachers think that ID is a scientific topic, and should be taught as science... then they should not be science teachers. They clearly don't understand what it is they are talking about.

These one third of teachers should be removed.

It's terrible what some brain dead, and evil faith-heads can subject children too.

I recall from the Louis Theroux documentary that there was a teenage girl he became friends with - and she really looked about ready to leave.. even if she was trying hard to deny it.

I can't help but hope one day this guy will accidentally picket a Mafia funeral ;-)

Just watched the clip - and couldn't believe what I was watching!

Did he seriously try to point out the flaws in the whole bible=morals debate? Not something you would expect from a man running for president of the US.

He'd get my vote... if I were American.

The narrator of this clip was the usual faithful twat. "no no... your picking out the wrong bits from the bible. Just focus on the good stuff, and ignore the rest..." Twat.

Go to: Interview with Richard Dawkins on fairy tales and retirement

V'Ger's Avatar Jump to comment 159 by V'Ger

Hasn't this stuff about Richard destroying childhood gone a bit far? I mean - he only mentioned that he would be interested in any evidence which suggested such stories clouded the mind.

The real problem is not that children are reading fairytales... it's that they are not reading GOOD science books - which illustrate just how amazing the real world is.

Another problem is the amount of adults that actually read Harry Potter! I mean come on... no matter what cover you put on it - it's still a childrens book. Grow up already and read some adult fiction ;-)

V'Ger's Avatar Jump to comment 115 by V'Ger

"The above is the entire problem. Fairy tales and stories are great but the TRUTH about the REAL WORLD should never be seen as DULL!"

Spot on. Children should be exposed to just how amazing and wonderful the real world is. My son would much rather read his books about space - than the fairytale stories he has.

And anybody who regards the truth as 'dull' has had the all too common, and wrong education.

Tell us all on one hand that we have to integrate with one-another, and get back to that community spirit... and then promote the separation of different sections of society based on faith.

What a truly aweful message to send to young children... don't mix with those kids - they follow the wrong God!

"When the atheists reply, "The Big Bang," the curious have one more question: what caused the Big Bang? "

The really curios investigate, and search for the REAL answers... whereas the religious just jump to a ridiculous conclusion that only begs more, and even more difficult questions. Pointing this out half way through seemed like a pretty stupid move!

"So the question that comes to mind is: why are they shouting so loudly? "

Perhaps they shout because your all so bloody deaf?

What is the point of this show?

Everybody is well aware that there are many mosques that teach fear and hatred, and promote murder and violence. And most people are smart enough to know that even those that claim not to directly teach the same - just disguise it with other language.

That's what you get from people who revere a book which proclaims non-believers to be worthy only of conversion or death... and not to mention the obsession with The Prophet 'Peadophile Mohammed!

This reminded me of a show I watched a few weeks ago... title "666 - the Search for Satan".

At one point they had a guy saying that a half man, half goat creature lived in nearby woods... and had been seen a few times, and once scarred a man by screaming at him. He went on to state that this creature 'must' be the devil himself.

I couldn't help but think... well - this Satan guy isn't really that evil is he? Just messing about in the woods screaming at passers by isn't what you would attribute to the lord of all evil is it?
