Another goody from ACG. Does a red 'A' count as a religiously offensive image? Indeed, the faith-heads' list of things offensive grows by the second - most gratifying.

What a nasty piece of work the dunderhead Flynn is - he has an anger problem so extreme he should seek help as soon as possible. But then anger is a basic characteristics of Roman Catholics in my experience.

Having read the comments following the article, it is clear that there is little difference between Torygraph and Daily Mail readers when it comes to differentiating facts from dogma. Where did "I just wish atheists wouldn’t pick an hate-monger as their cheerleader" come from?

Phillips is a journalist on the ghastly Daily Mail, a newspaper which supported the National Socialists in Germany in the 1930s. Facts are things its journalists have little time for. The paper's website is notorious for the rantings of the facist mob. Rationality is not welcome.

Ms Malkin didn't actually say that it was an atheist who complained about Rudolph - it could have been a faith-head from another superstition yet she inferred they had no faith.

Another thing, is swearing an oath on a "stack of bibles" more meaningful to them than swearing on a single bible? Sounds a little like Star Trek to me - "increase the power Scottie - make the pile bigger"

petermun's Avatar Jump to comment 70 by petermun

As some have already pointed out, being an atheist means being part of a very large and amazingly diverse community. Whilst there may be many things this community has in common, for example, a non-belief in any divinity and a respect for the work of RD, Hitch et al, there are many more things that members do not have in common - so to lump us under one heading, as you might justifiably do for a Roman Catholic for example, is total garbage.

It seems to be beyond the intellectual capacity of these people to grasp the difference between free-thinkers (the cats of this world) and directed believers (the sheep) - we all know you can't herd the former.

The latest programme in the series "The Atheist and the Bishop" - available on the BBC Radio 4 play again feature (for those in the UK)- has AC Grayling questioning young people at a faith school about their beliefs. Interestingly, although it was a CofE school, he was able to talk to roman catholic, muslim and "atheist" pupils.
