So god gave you cancer (which he created) especially so you could feel the comfort of faith for 7 years? How thoughtful of him I must say. In my opinion that is very cruel cancer in exchange for comfort? NO thanks.

Easy there Eckhart Tolle Jr. You're spewing a heavy dose of woo there. You're totally out of place here maybe even in the wrong site. Nice try but really you don't make any sense with all that word salad crap. This site is for rational thinking.

Atheists have a personal relationship with reality.

True religion = oxymoron False religion = redundant

Thanks for putting some context to this show RM. I thought Richard did an excellent job even though it did appear the audience was ignorant. Perhaps as you say some of the laughter was mixed and it was hard to tell who the laughter was directed at.

Anyway watching was frustrating but entertaining in that it just confirms to me that religion does not make any sense whatsoever!

Haha the Pell guy loses it at the end - using the Hitler in Hell excuse! Total FAIL.

Why doesn't he ask why did his god allow for Hitler to get away with it at all? Like the comedian Izzy says "why didn't god just flick Hitler's head off?".

Very bad questions is a result of their cognitive disease.

Really frustrating to watch this audience couldn't be any more stupid and ignorant of any kind of scientific facts. Laughing at serious questions I can't believe the level of their comprehension and lack of knowledge on the topics.

I enjoy listening to Richard's eloquent explanations but unfortunately it was all lost of deaf faith ears obviously.

This interviewer lady is SO annoying! Very passive aggressive. The whole time she is just trying to convince Richard that he is rude and is trying to scold him on his "tone". It really distracts from the conversation and is really just so petty. I hate this kind of apologetic view it's just so weak and wishy washy. Richard is nothing but soft spoken and polite answering her questions.

Personally I don't get all this righteousness against Richard. I find it absurd. I find Richard to be truthful and honest and to me that is so refreshing.

Strange piece indeed coming from a doctor? Proves there are no bounds for cognitive dissonance I would say. Ah well. Anyway here in Canada you can go all you want for all the tests you want so I suggest everyone at least go for their yearly physicals. Take advantage of the wonders of modern medical science. I know people who avoided the doctor but now are dead.

Does this guy not know that the bible endorses slavery of people and the oppression of women? He lives in a fantasy land.

He's very disrespectful to those who promote reason and facts. All these people who say how dare you attack faith - translation "shut up".

So many people are trying to get Richard Dawkins and all atheists to shut up are starting to look very desperate and pathetic. Why does religion deserve a free pass? It doesn't.

"Making enemies is good: it means you're distinct in how you communicate, and you probably have some fans"

I think faitheists need a good agitation as they've gotten way too smug and arrogant. And how do you annoy a faitheist? So easy - merely by asking questions.

Questions? How dare you!

I don't think this should be promoted here either. The money is going towards a religious organization and they have done enough harm. Hello child witches? Hello killing gays? I won't even watch this video propaganda. I will have nothing to do with anything jesus related.

And I saw one of the guys explain their funding - 1/3 for the video, 1/3 for media and 1/3 for the movement. Doesn't seem right. I get the sceptic red flag from these guys.

Not so fast. It appears to be she is one who thinks science and god are the same. Her recent Tweets reflect that. She's still figuring it all out she's very young. She may never escape indoctrination she is entrenched in it and would probably lose most of her fans. Probably not worth it to her to find out the real truth for herself.

Go to: Freedom of speech for street preachers

helena!'s Avatar Jump to comment 68 by helena!

This case seems to be one of targeting a couple directly. That is verbal assault. If it were me being a woman and some preacher started verbally assaulting and threatening me you bet your ass I would speak up and call the police. People have a right not to be verbally accosted by strangers in a public place.

Actually I have gotten death threats in the past - for my little tiny yorkie peeing on their grass or near their property. I told them right away I am calling the police which I did but they didn't come because it wasn't an emergency. The fact is I stood up for myself. Free speech away but if you threaten me that is not OK.

So this case looks more like a targeted death threat pretending to be free speech.

It's good to tell this religious lunatic it's not ok and in this case take him to court yes I'm for that. I'm not for punishing with violence but some people have not learned how to be nice. If they can't then we have human values that we must all follow so we can all get along.

Nothing wrong with some rules so we can keep the peace.

For a solution we need to be looking at another angle to this. I think Lawrence Krauss may be on to something big here. Instead of forcing others what to believe or not I think it's much more positive to insist on what is good and that unbelievers have equal human rights to question and be sceptical. Make it very clear that it is unacceptable to disrespect unbelievers for their unbelief. Teach the value of a sceptical life.

"The faithful must learn to respect those who question their beliefs"

"Tensions between religion and science will persist unless believers recognise that skepticism is a hallmark of science"

The reality is that no matter how many moderate peaceful muslims there are it doesn't matter. They are moderate because they are mild and won't speak up. Honestly if it were me I wouldn't speak up if my life was threatened. Insane people who are violent are terrifying because they just don't care or I'm not sure why really but they are scary. Sane people are moderate in nature and will avoid insane people for self preservation.

The answer is in the question as to how to gather all the moderates to be the voice of reason and to disallow violence and threats against another person as being the law above all laws. How to get these poisonous thoughts out of men's minds.

I wouldn't buy her book if I were you. She's is also a liberal muslim and believes her interpretation is the right one of islam. Just like those new agers who say god is love. She can't let go of islam and puts on the blinders and defends it blindly ignoring how harmful this religion is. She's trying to reinvent it. It's futile and she is putting herself in danger. Yes she is brave but for stupid reasons. Quite deluded and I do fear for her safety you can't be so naive with these lunatics.

So don't buy her book. If you are an atheist you are wasting your money. But still I would support her right to free speech.

I so agree if a cartoon makes people uncomfortable and offended then right there is the issue! Ask yourself honestly why are you offended by a cartoon? Too scary to challenge your spoon fed beliefs? Well that seems to be the problem with you.

Also again I repeat please provide evidence what your prophet looks like before you accuse. I would say it's hard to prove the likeness of an imaginary supernatural right?

I swear I've never seen a bunch of whinier cry babies than the religious. Grown adults actively seeking to be offended for the attention and to be able to say "I'm so hurt by a cartoon"! Could they be any more absurd?

I swear people in this world get off on just being offended and actively seek out to get offended by something everyday.

I get offended but but for rational and logical reasons but religion truly makes people so mental it's beyond redonkulous!
